Springdale Park Family Session || Simkins

One of the great things about kicking off the photography business is that I am exploring all sorts of interesting places in Northwest Arkansas! Even though I’ve lived up here for years, I’ve been unaware of all of the natural backdrops that surround me, like JB Hunt Park, where today’s featured session took place.

A month or so before Christmas, the Simkins approached me about wanting to take some photos with their grandkids as a surprise gift for their daughter. I love surprises, so of course I had to do it. It was also my first time working with kids that weren’t my own family, which was a fun experience!

Fall lit up around the time of this session. Though it had been balmy the rest of the week, the day of our shoot was windy and felt freezing! It never let up on us, but we still managed to have a good time. The kids even got to play on the playground for a while to get out their wiggles, and that provided some sweet photo opportunities as well.

Near the end of the session, the Simkins’ other daughter came to join us and the kids got to have some fun with their aunt. I’m partial to aunts, as I am one, and it was super cute to see their faces light up when she came to join them.

The weather is turning beautiful again outside, which means it’s a great time to book a session with me! Let’s make and capture some memories this spring! This park won’t be the only park that will be lovely when spring hits!
