Celebrating The First Year of Life!

If you’ve got kids, you know how fast the time goes the older they grow. I only have nieces and nephews, and I acutely feel how quickly the time is flying every year!

And that’s why photography is so important. With photos, you get to remember each step of life. From maternity, to newborn, to the first birthday, and on and on. You can look back and see squishy faces, the innocence and wonder in eyes, the anxiety you felt about parenting. It’s all beauty, swirled up into photos. Every emotion and reminder of the fragility of life is right there in front of you with photos.

I know I’m totally biased, as a photographer. But as much as I think a yearly photo session is the best idea, just snapping pictures on your phone is just as important.

I get so excited to take photos for little kiddos celebrating their first year of life! They start developing personalities, the cutest little smiles, and make the funniest faces in between all of that.

Looking for some inspiration for how to celebrate baby’s first year in photos? You can go as extra or as simple as you want! Toddler rocking chairs, metal basins filled with water or milk and a favorite fruit, a little cake for a cake smash, a cute outfit, a little matching blanket, the list could go on. Never feel like you have make it any certain way. Just your kiddo in front of the camera will be enough!
