2 Years and a Surprise!

You know them, you love them, they’re some of my favorite clients and they keep coming back for more! It’s the Gibbs and their family photos update, complete with the introduction of a new member coming to the crew!

MJ is now a big ole 2-year-old! To celebrate her getting older, we did a little family in-home session. (Oh my worddddd the natural light in the Gibbs’ home though.) We didn’t just celebrate a birthday though! We also celebrated a new lil baby boy coming in March! The world is about to get a little bit more awesome (and I’ve got my fingers crossed that he picks my birthday to make his debut!)

I love getting to see my friends have so much joy in their lives, through stress and hardships and just life in general. That’s one reason I enjoy photography so much! I know there’s a lot of the whole “highlight reel” thing on social media in general. And I agree, sometimes we don’t share our lowlights enough and then comparison can be an issue.

However, a photo freezes a moment in time and helps us to remember the joyful bits whenever we do have low moments. I’ve had the honor to capture small memories for people who have lost children, lost family members, gone through other difficult stressors, etc., and I don’t think a single one of them would be upset that they had happy photos to look back on and remember. (Though I’m sure there can be an element of bittersweet thrown in there as well.)

Take the photos, friends.

Even if they aren’t professional. Allow yourself to have happy things to look back on.

Okay, off my soap box now. I added a few pictures from MJ’s one-year session last year to the end-look at how much she has grown!!

Uggghhh so cute, right?

Remember that one day when Facebook and Instagram were down for hours? You know what wasn’t down? Pinterest. Just saying, that’s a good place to keep up with ya girl’s photo biz!

The leaves are changing and I have a few spots open before they all fall to the ground! If you need to squeeze in a session, let me know!
