Arkansas Proposal || James & Morgan

If you’re anything like me, you love watching proposals. It’s kind of like when I watch videos of military people surprise-reuniting with their families. I tear up every time. So of course, I was bursting at the seams to photograph an actual proposal! My friend James brought me that very opportunity back in April when he proposed to his sweet girlfriend Morgan.

The funny thing is, James and Morgan go to church where I grew up going to church–only they didn’t move to town until after I left! I remember a few years ago my mom mentioned how these two ought to date, and now look at them.

It was a hot May evening at Lake Degray. Caleb and I had posted up at two spots–one far away, one on the peninsula where the proposal would take place. Morgan and James took a walk by the lake and eventually made their way over to where I was at the peninsula. They sat and watched the sunset and talked and read a sweet note that James had written. And then, they got engaged!!!

I even got to follow them to a fun engagement party that James had set up for her and their families and friends afterward. Talk about feeling the love! Everyone was happy and excited for the future Mr. and Mrs. Stone. Those kinds of happy moments are what make being a photographer so exciting!

Aren’t those cookies and cups so sweet?! You could tell that both families love James and Morgan a lot by the work they put into the party. That chalkboard drawing in the bottom right corner? James drew that all himself! I think these two are set to have a very happy life ahead of them.
