Spooky Halloween Friends Photoshoot
Last October, my senior year college roommates and I got together to celebrate our birthdays (7 months belated) and to take a TON of photos! Phase one: spooky photos. We ordered capes. Two of us drove to Stillwater to meet the other, and by the time we made it, it was raining. My husband drove over after work while we got ready (read: so much makeup). By the time he made it, it was dark, still rainy, and very very spooky.
Did that deter us? No! Should it have? Maybe? But I’m glad it didn’t. Because after we were done taking pictures, we were exhausted and hungry, which meant that the cheese fries we ate immediately following were the best things we ever ate.
Props to Hannah for doing our eyeshadow! This was the most intense look we had ever done and she killed it. Kelsy nailed the location scouting, and Caleb nailed the group photos! Teamwork makes the spooky dream work, y’all.
Anyway, a year later, I still enjoy these pictures and the memories that go with them. Now, I share them with you!
These were fun to play with and edit last year. Were the conditions perfect? No. Did we have to use car lights so we could see? Yupp. But none of that really mattered in the end; it was all about what we did with what we had.
Let that be your perspective this spooky season. The conditions aren’t perfect, and it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But do the best you can–donate to worthy causes, educate yourself and others on topics you consider important, love on others and take care of your health, and stay strong and hopeful, especially when things feel hopeless. Keep that magic alive, y’all!
