Skateboard Couples Session || Kelsy and Zach
Picture this: it’s the middle of summer. Saharan dessert dust is clouding the sky, making for some interesting sunsets. You want to get up as high as you can in the city and you have a sister- and brother-in-law that just recently moved back to town and that have a special connection to a cool skateboard.
It makes for a pretty good photo set-up, right?
This was my first time to get back behind the camera last year after COVID began shutting things down. It was a great starting point for me to learn how to pose people and fix things without getting all up in their personal space. Gotta love a new thing to learn!
Looking to get inspired for some Valentine’s photos? This works for a big shoot or simply for a photo you take with your phone to post on Insta! Grab an object that means something to both you and your partner. Once you do that, think of unique ways to incorporate the prop into a photo of the two of you, whether you both hold it, one of you uses it while the other hugs you from behind, etc.
Idea List Time!
A blanket the two of you bought on a vacation
Your father’s skateboard that y’all have memories of
An instrument that you both play, or that one of you plays for the other
The ticket from your first movie/game/date
A plant y’all grew together
Favorites books, comics, photos that you share
Past gifts
Lightsabers
A craft you make together (Better yet-document yourself making it!)
Anything you can think of!
I can never be too grateful for family, and for my friends that become family (both literally and figuratively!) In the past year, I’ve gotten to work with all of Caleb’s immediate family. I love it, not only to make fun images for their memories, but to collect my own images of all these people that I love!
Keep that in mind if you are on the fence about having pictures done–100%, do them for you! But remember, there are so many people that love you that want to see you “immortalized in megapixels” as my dad would say. Your parents, your siblings, your grandparents, people who have adopted you as their own, the list goes on, they looooove seeing and having pictures of you. You don’t even have to be on a skateboard!
Now is the perfect moment to set up a shoot! If you aren’t feeling this cold weather, schedule a shoot for the warmer months and give yourself something to look forward to! Hit me up here and let me know what you’re thinking!
