Colorful Mommy and Me || Gibbs

Last summer this momma and her cutie cashed in on their mommy and me session! We found a colorful wall and went to town with pictures. We even hung out in some of the trees behind the parking lot. If you get one thing from today’s blog, it’s that you don’t need a fancy set-up to get some freakin’ awesome pictures.

This wall area is called the Maude Wall, hidden behind the Maude store on College! There’s lots of colors to choose from to fit your mood, and honestly, you’ll probably always see someone taking a picture back there. It’s great for a quick instagram or for a whole photo shoot! Love the way little MJ’s bow perfectly matched the pink wall. And love even more the matching vans that she and her mom had on!

Mommy and me sessions are a great idea for like, every year, if you ask me! And let’s be real, daddy and me sessions should totally be a thing too. Sometimes parents get the short end of the stick and are doing all the photo-taking but not getting to do all the being-in-the-photo! A mommy and me photoshoot is a good reason to get a little dolled up and treat yourself! Working with kids is fun, purely because you just can’t post them! The toddler is gonna do what the toddler is gonna do.

Lately I’ve been leaning more into setting scenes and letting poses naturally happen rather than posing everything, and I think it has changed my photography! This was one of the first shoots like that, and I love the way it turned out.
